Charlotta Bergström

I am a doctoral student, nurse and urotherapist with complementary education in clinical 
sexology. I combine my doctoral studies with clinical work at Danderyd's
hospital. I am a board member of the Swedish Nursing Society.

My doctoral studies focus on sexuality in young adults with cancer and I do my research within the 
Fex-Can project, Fertility and sexuality after cancer. We have followed a population-based cohort of young adults with cancer for five years following diagnosis to investigate the cancer and cancer treatment's impact on sexuality. My part of the project also involves evaluating a web-based intervention aiming at reducing sexual problems.
Additionally, I am involved in clinical research, where we in a multicenter RCT have 
investigated transanal irrigation as treatment for patients with major bowel
dysfunction following rectal cancer treatment. We are currently looking at long-term effects of bowel dysfunction, as well as exploring the patients´ experiences of using transanal irrigation.

I have a teacher's diploma and five years of  full-time teaching experience.

I regularly teach at hospitals and universities.
