About me
Carl Henrik Ek is Visiting Professor of Machine Learning at the Department of Clinical Research and Education, Söder Hospital, as of 1 November 2023. He is also Professor of Statistical Learning at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Carl Henrik Ek’s interest lies in medical applications of machine learning. Thanks to the digitisation of the past decades, there are vast banks of research data, which can be translated into medical knowledge and applications through modern statistical methods and machine learning. As visiting professor, Carl Henrik Ek will be helping clinical researchers to produce and develop new projects on the basis of clinical and scientific questions and relevant health data. Professor Henrik Ek has been working in the field of machine learning for 20 years and runs a research group focusing on the theoretical development of statistical models at Cambridge University. He holds a degree in vehicle engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a PhD in data science from Oxford Brookes University.
