Camilla Krizhanovskii

Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor of Medicin focusing on Diabetology at the Department of Clinical Science and Education, Södersjukhuset.

Camilla Krizhanovskii was born in Tumba and educated at Hayward University in California, USA where she completed a bachelors degree in business administration and a master’s degree in Molecular Medicine. With a degree in Molecular Biology also from Stockholm University, Camilla went on to Karolinska Institutet, where she defended her PhD thesis in 2013. After completing postdoctoral studies at Uppsala Biomedical Centre, Department of Medical Cell Biology, she became an Associate Professor in 2018. In addition, she is a Senior Lecturer in Internal Medicine focusing on Diabetology since 2021, and has since 2020 been course manager of Evidence Based Medicine at Södertälje Hospital, which is part of the doctors’ specialist medical training.

Camilla Krizhanovskii is researching into cardiometabolic disease, with a special interest in the role for the intestinal hormone GLP-1, which also forms the basis of a class of antihyperglycemic drugs used in type 2 diabetes therapy.
