About me
- I am a postdoctoral epidemiologist with strong quantitative data analysis and
synthesis skills from the backgrounds in Mathematics (BS), Demography (MSc)
and Epidemiology (PhD), currently based in the Health System and Policy
research group within the Global Health division, Department of Public Health
Sciences. My research projects so far have focused on reproductive health, in
particular, maternal and newborn health in low- and lower-middle income
countries.
I have extensive field experience in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. In
particular, in Afghanistan, I managed fieldworkers and research doctors to
implement a maternal health research project. More recently in Nigeria, I
worked along with a health-system strengthening programme to research into
how quality of maternal health care may be improved within the context. Since
I joined Karolinska Institutet in 2017, I have been collaborating with the
Health and Demographic Surveillance Site in Iganga/Mayuge, Eastern Uganda.
