Anna Jerregård Skarby
About me
After having a career in a completely different profession I began studying medicine at Karolinska Institutet in 2013, where I graduated in 2018. Today, I am a resident physician in geriatrics in Nyköping, Sörmland and divide my time between clinical work and research. My interest in research began while writing my degree project on pediatric PSC. I have a clinical interest in PSC, pediatrics and geriatrics. In 2021 I joined Annika Bergquist's research group as a PhD student.
Research
Most studies have so far focused on the adult/middle aged patients with PSC. Less is known regarding children and long term survivors. The general aim of my doctoral project 'Primary Scleriosing Cholangitis in the young and old' is to explore the discrepancies in PSC across age groups, from childhood-onset PSC to PSC inthe elderly.
