Joseph Carlson's Group
Molecular Gynaecological Cancer Research
In 2016, according to the Swedish Cancer Registry, 2 978 Swedish women were diagnosed with a gynaecologic cancer, making this, when considered as a group, the second most common malignant tumour of women after breast cancer. Research into these tumours is hampered by the large number of tumour sites and types.
The Carlson Team is involved in research in all forms of gynaecologic cancer, and its work is united by the goal of improving patient care by individualizing therapy for these cancers. The Lab is affiliated with the Karolinska Institutets Personalized Cancer Medicine program.
