Research group Karin Modig: Hip fractures and osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a major public health concern and hip fractures are an oftentimes life-changing consequence of osteoporosis. In Sweden, the lifetime risk of hip fracture is 20% among women and 11% among men. With a focus on hip fractures, our work covers different aspects of fragility fracture risk, prognosis after fragility fractures, as well as the treatment of osteoporosis. We work in close cooperation with the Swedish hip fracture register Rikshöft.
