KI Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry (KI-SMMS) Core Facility

KI-SMMS is the small molecule mass spectrometry core facility at KI/SLL. The facility provides analytical services using best available mass spectrometry methods with a focus on quantitative measurements of small molecules. We assist in designing experiments, including a broad range of samples preparation methods, in combination with generation of high-quality mass spectrometric data as well as data analysis and interpretation

We offer multiple services to the KI research community:

  • Untargeted metabolomics
  • Targeted metabolomics
  • Eicosanoid and oxylipin profiling
  • Eicosanoid urinary metabolite profiling
  • Sphingolipid profiling
  • Endocannabinoid profiling
  • Amino acid profiling

Mass spectrometers

  • Xevo TQ-S (Waters) - tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer
  • Xevo TQ-XS (Waters) - tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer

Liquid chromatography systems

  • ACQUITY UPLC System (Waters) - Ultra-performance liquid chromatograph
  • ACQUITY UPLC System (Waters) - Ultra-performance liquid chromatograph

Booking and prices

The facility is open to all users, but priority is given to the KI research community. You can book the facility via iLab System.

Pricing is determined on a project specific basis. Please contact Antonio Checa for more details.
