Karolinska Institutet and Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) offer a short term student exchange program for hosting 1-2 doctoral students from each university per year.
The duration of the short term exchange of doctoral students will be from 1-6 months. The two selected KI students will each receive a travel grant for up to 10 000 SEK to cover the return flight in economy class.
Announcement for short term PhD student exchange 2019-2020
The Board of Doctoral Education at Karolinska Institutet hereby announces two short term exchange positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for KI-PhD-students. Two PhD students will be selected by KI to go on a short term exchange lasting for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 6 moths. The selected students will each receive a travel grant for up to 10 000 SEK to cover the return flight to Hong Kong in economy class.
Application and admission
Application documents are to be submitted to the home universities International Relations Unit. Students that come within already existing collaborations will be priorities in the selection. All applications should include confirmation from a CUHK/KI researcher stating that the researcher is willing to supervise the student during the student's stay at CUHK/KI. CUHK PIs and KI PIs should discuss the candidates' research proposals in advance.

Application Documents for KI Students
- Description of the research project (briefly describe your proposed research plan/project at the host institution and indicate why it is essential to your research/thesis)
- Letter of invitation from the host supervisor
- Letter of support by the KI supervisor including confirmation the exchange is included in the individual study plan, and that the salary will be paid during the exchange

For KI doctoral students, application period for the academic year 2019-2020 is May 20 to June 10, 2019.

Free on campus accommodation might be available for visting KI doctoral students. CUHK will otherwise provide assistance to find accommodation.
