Forensic epidemiology – Thomas Masterman's research group

The program area conducts projects that in various ways relate to the link between mental illness and crime.

Currently, the research is mainly conducted using register-based studies on how mental disorders, substance abuse and poor drug compliance increase the risk of violent crime. The multidisciplinary perspective is illustrated by the fact that the research group consists of four forensic psychiatrists, two psychiatrists, one psychologist, one nurse, one social worker, one criminologist and one police officer.
