Organisation at the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology
CLINTEC:s main activities are undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as research and development. Some divisions at the department almost exclusively handle undergraduate education, while others concentrate mainly on research.
All divisions have in common a close collaboration with a clinic at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
The entire human body is represented at CLINTEC, from infants to adults, and from the head (ears, nose, throat, hearing and speech) to nephrology, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, orthopaedics, transplantation, urology, medical imaging and radiography as well as anaesthesiology and intensive care.

In much the same way as the President has delegated considerable responsibility to the Heads of Departments at KI, the Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) has delegated responsibility to the fourteen heads of the divisions.
The Head of Department is supported by an office comprising a personal assistant, Head of Administration, financial administration and HR, and a number of steering groups; Management Group, Departmental Council, Work Environment Committee, Undergraduate Committee, Postgraduate Committee, and Collaboration Group.
