Student awards to the 8th Mayo Clinic Symposium on Tumor Microenvironment & Cancer Therapeutics

Yuanyuan Zhang and Lakshmi Sandhow are awarded student travel grants for the 8th Mayo Clinic Symposium on Tumor Microenvironment and Cancer Therapeutics.

Yuanyuan Zhang (Department of Oncology-Pathology) and Lakshmi Sandhow (Department of Medicine Huddinge) are awarded student travel grants to attend The 8th Mayo Clinic Symposium on Tumor Microenvironment and Cancer Therapeutics at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, USA, December 7-9, 2018.

Six applications were received by deadline (Sept 15, 2018) for the two student awards available for the symposium. The applicants were evaluated based on their CV and publications as well as the quality of the submitted abstract and its relevance for the symposium in question.

About the awards:
Registered PhD students in the field of tumor biology-oncology at Karolinska Institutet can apply for a student award to attend the symposium. The student awards cover registration, hotel accommodation, and travel (economy class). The student awards are sponsored through a STINT grant for cooperation between KI and the Mayo Clinic.
Two student awards will be granted. The applications will be reviewed and scored by the STINT grant holders, Prof. Bengt Fadeel, Karolinska Institutet, and Prof. Debabrata Mukhopadhyay, Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, USA.
