The Gunnar & Ingmar Jungner Foundation for Laboratory Medicine

The Gunnar & Ingmar Jungner Foundation for Laboratory Medicine is donating SEK 1 million to research at the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) at Karolinska Institutet, with the objective to enable the research work for PhD student Håkan Malmström, Head statistician for the Amoris databace.

The foundation has previously donated an extended AMORIS database to the IMM, including SEK 1 million to initiate research based on the database, followed by a second donation on SEK 1 million to facilitate the work with the database.

Research using AMORIS commenced in the autumn of 2013 with a planned doctoral thesis by programmers and statistician responsible for the project.

In order to extend the use of the database to other projects with minimal loss of time, it has been decided that the foundation’s latest SEK 1 million donation is to be reserved for the recruitment of the necessary expertise, primarily in programming and statistics.
