The advisory board for culture (Kulturrådet) at KI is an advisory body for the KI president, covering  the interactive area between science and culture at KI. The board looks after KI interests including "Culture in the past" (e.g. KI history, Medical history, Anatomical collections, Buildings, Arts and Porttraits) and their presentation to current generations. It also focuses on "Culture in present and future", which deals with current neuroscience and culture, lectures on Culture and Brain and What is life, arranging PhD courses on these topics, popular science presentations on KI research and encouraging cultural activities within KI, such as the events "Brain and Culture" and "The KI cultural week". As the board has formulated it: Kulturrådet looks after the soul of KI.

The members are appointed by the president of KI and are recruited among KI students, teachers and researchers, other employees and external partners with a commitment and interest in Culture and Science.
