Forskningsbeskrivning

Organisationspsykologi och management inom vård och omsorg, med ett speciellt intresse för ledarskap, strukturer och processer som kan stödja uthållighet i organisatoriskt lärande, utveckling, innovation och kvalitetsförbättring.

Mitt forskningsområde arbets- och organisationspsykologi berör tre analytiska nivåer: individ (kognition, stress, motivation, beslutsfattande etc.), grupp (kommunikation, socialisation, ledarskap, grupputveckling etc.), organisation (strategi, struktur, kultur, makt, utveckling, produktion, arbetsmiljö etc.). Min forskning aspirerar därför på att använda en systemsyn med multipla analysnivåer för att undersöka komplexa organisatoriska fenomen.

Jag leder fem forskningsprojekt (VINNVÅRD, VINNOVA, SFO-V) som fokuserar på organisatoriska strukturer och processer som underlättar uthålligt lärande, innovationsskapande, utveckling och förbättring i stora, komplexa system inom vård och omsorg. De baseras på aktionsorienterade angreppsätt och mixade metodansatser. De sker i samverkan med Sörmlands region, landstingen i Västerbotten och Jämtland, Socialstyrelsen samt universiteten i Umeå, Luleå och Göteborg.

Jag deltar som forskare i det nationella projektet Säker förlossningsvård med fokus på att förbättra patientsäkerheten inom alla Sveriges förlossningskliniker. Det initierades av Svensk förening för Obstetrik och Gynekologi och Barnmorske- och Barnläkarförbunden och finansieras av Patientförsäkringen LÖF.

Jag ingår även som forskare i CHEPSAA, ett EU-finansierat projekt med syftet att förbättra hälsosystemen i fem afrikanska länder, ett AFA-finansierat projekt om kombinationen Lean och hälsofrämjande satsningar vid Enköpings lasarett samt ett SKL-finansierat projekt kring implementeringsstrategier för nationella storskaliga interventioner inom området äldre. 2010-2012 koordinerar jag det internationella forskarnätverket Organizational Culture and Quality Improvement research.

Tidigare projekt för SKL har resulterat i rapporter om organisationsutveckling och förbätttring inom vården och chefsuppdragets komplexitet i politiskt styrda organisationer. Min avhandling rörde den upplevda chefsrollen under förändringsperioder där en socialkonstruktivistisk och en rationell/kognitiv forskningsansats kontrasterades.

Sedan 1993 har jag varit involverad nationellt och internationellt i universitetskurser i organisationspsykologi, organisationsutveckling och ledarskap både för chefer generellt och inom vård och omsorg.
