The research concerns both the early palliative phase, when life extension is still possible, and the late phase, with a focus on symptom issues.
My current palliative care research is about registry research: Where are people cared for at end of life and do all patients have access to the best possible care? Can access to specialized palliative care reduce the need for emergency hospital admissions? Do you get adequate help with the symptoms? Are cost expenditures equal for all patients?
