Research description

My research focus is on disease mechanisms and outcomes of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases. I am also interested in exploring and employing epidemiological and statistical methods for register-based research.

My doctoral project aims to study the epidemiological aspects of sarcoidosis using large, population-based Swedish registers complemented with detailed clinical data. It covers all aspects of the course of disease, i.e. disease etiology, disease progression to a chronic course, and long-term patient outcomes.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

I am working in parallel with lupus research, supporting the outstanding work of our group. Our research focuses on outcomes of pregnant women with SLE and their children, and cardiovascular disease. We are also interested in disease etiology and therapy, working with projects on familial aggregation, infections and outcomes of therapeutic management.
