Judith Brand received her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Utrecht University, The Netherlands in 2012 and a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology in 2010 from the same university. During her PhD, she studied the role of sex hormones in cardiometabolic risk using large-scale observational data. She joined the Breast Cancer Research Group as a postdoctoral researcher in November 2012. In this position, she investigates the epidemiology of mammographic density, its determinants (genetic and non-genetic) and role in tumor detection. She also has a strong interest in breast cancer prognosis, and using registry-based data she aims to acquire a comprehensive picture of short and long-term health outcomes in breast cancer patients.
