About me

Edda María Elvarsdóttir is a PhD student in the MDS Research Group at HERM.

Education

She finished her BSc in Biology from the University of Iceland in 2010, obtained a Masters degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Uppsala University in 2012 and joined the MDS group at Karolinska Institutet later that same year.

Research description

Her current research is focused on a subtype of MDS called refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS) and she is establishing a 3D culture system for the disease in the lab.
