Occupational Health

A safe and healthy work environment is critical for physical, mental, and social well-being. However, many different factors in the occupational environment can contribute to work-related diseases. At IMM research within occupational health ranges from occupational exposure assessment, ergonomics and work-related diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and kidney diseases, musculoskeletal disorders and mental illness. Other research aims at identifying risk factors for effective interventions that prevents illness and promote health, as well as research that involves cellular studies on toxicants in the occupational environment.
