Mechanisms for Toxicity

Chemicals are abundant in everyday life. All people are therefore exposed continuously to varying levels of many different chemicals. Accidents, occupation and lifestyle, including diet, as well as use of specific products can substantially increase the exposure to certain chemicals. Chemicals have the potential to cause a variety of health effects and research at IMM aim to clarify such health effects through epidemiological studies as well as the underlying mechanisms by use of various experimental models and methods for testing chemical toxicity (in vivo, in vitro, in silico).
