Linking neuronal diversity and neural computation
Dr Krishnan Padmanabhan, Salk Institute for Biological Studies
Dr. Padmanabhan is a Cricks-Jacob Junior Fellow at Salk Institute for Biological Studies where he studies single neuron dynamics as related to neuronal diversity and neural computation. His work has demonstrated the importance of de-correlation of neuronal firing, via biophysical diversity, for information coding. He also works in circuit level mapping and analysis of the olfactory system using the monosynaptic rabies viral tracing system.
