Det övergripande målet för INDUCT (Interdisciplinary Network for Dementia Utilising Current Technology) var att förbättra teknikens användbarhet inom demensvården, genom utvärdering och implementering. INDUCT-nätverket omfattade världsledande partnerorganisationer, universitet och företag. INDUCT samarbetade med INTERDEM, som är ett omfattande internationellt nätverk som verkar för utveckling och forskning inom demensområdet. 15 nya sk Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), dvs. doktorander, ingick i INDUCT, och två av dessa finns/fanns inom forskargruppen CACTUS på KI.

De två INDUCT-projekten på KI var

1) Vardagsteknik i offentlig miljö möter personer med demens

2) Tillgång till och förmåga att använda vardagsteknik hos äldre med demens

I dessa projekt låg fokus på personer med demens som användare av vardagsteknik, och studierna undersökte hur teknik i offentlig miljö och samhällsservice interagerar med och influerar upplevd delaktighet hos personer med demens i olika länder i Europa (i detta fall Storbritannien och Sverige). Data insamlades med instrument; Everyday Technology Use Questionnaire (ETUQ) och Participation in ACTivities and places OUTside home questionnaire (ACT-OUT), men också med kvalitativa metoder.  Studierna bidrog med data både till databaserna för dessa instrument och till det internationella projektet ”Delaktighet i aktiviteter och platser i offentlig miljö vid kognitiv nedsättning”.  Projekten startade hösten 2016 och avslutades vintern 2021.
