Units within the Division of Learning
Lifelong Learning in Health Care Contexts (LLiHCC)
Learning is the core concept and at the heart of Lifelong Learning in Health Care Contexts. Hence, we not only conduct research on learning, but also help improve education through evaluating teaching and learning.
To do so, we have developed systems and methods for assessment, quality improvement and feedback.
Prevention-Policy & Practice (PPP)
The research group PPP aims to generate evidence for effective prevention and promotion in national and global health care.
We conduct research driven initiatives and projects, which advance the contribution of emerging technologies, in order to benefit healthcare education and the health of our society. Our ambitions and motivations vary, but at our core we care about improving both health and learning.
Unit for Medical Statistics (MedStat)
The Medical Statistics Unit (Medstat) is involved in teaching, assignments and research in the field of medical statistics.
Units within the Health Informatics Centre (HIC)
Health Informatics Centre (HIC)
The Health Informatics Centre (HIC) performs research in the areas of clinical decision making, integrated patient-centred information systems for collaborative care and patient e-services with special focus on usability.
The Behavioral Informatics team
The Behavioral Informatics team strives to find ways in which behavioral data can be used to optimize health interventions. We are currently focusing on interventions targeting work-related stress and improving workers’ well-being.
The Medical Interactions team - MINT
MINT is a team within the research group HIC at LIME which focuses on design science research and medical education.
Units within the Centre for Healthcare Ethics (CHE)

Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University have together established the Stockholm Centre for Healthcare Ethics, CHE. The centre addresses ethical issues in medical care, preventive healthcare and biomedical research.
Health outcomes and economic evaluation
Health economics may be defined as the application of economic theories and methods on health and health care.
Medical history and heritage
The research team studies the history of medicine and science in a historical, cultural and societal context. We develop and convey an understanding of the historical conditions of medical knowledge and healthcare.
Units and research groups within Medical Management Centre (MMC)
Medical Management Centre (MMC)
MMC carries out research to support science-based management practice in health care. Our vision is to address how resources in the form of competence, knowledge, material and other assets can best be used and developed to improve human health.
We strive to bridge the medical management know-do gap by researching and developing innovative management practices together with practitioners that generate value for staff and patients.
Health Economics and Economic Evaluation
Health economics may be defined as a sub-discipline of economics and involves the application of theories and methods of economics on the topics health and health care. This research-group is doing research within health economics with a focus on health economic evaluation.
