Under det årliga kardiovaskulära vårmötet delas två priser ut till personer som gjort betydelsefulla insatser inom det kardiovaskulära området. Priserna inkluderar en summa på SEK 10,000 samt tur och returresa och betald kongressavgift.

Doktorandanslag - Stiftelsen Sunnerdahls Handikappfond

Stöder forskning och utvecklingsarbete kring barn och ungdomar med funktionshinder. Anslaget sökes av handledaren och motsvarar två års utbildningsbidrag och två års doktorandtjänst.

Kostfonden utlyser medel till en eller flera högkvalitativa interventionsstudier som på ett strukturerat vis utreder om metabolt syndrom, typ 2-diabetes eller problem/sjukdomar relaterade till dessa, kan förebyggas eller behandlas med kostens hjälp.

PAUS -Personrörlighet för akademiker med Utbildningsfokus och studentmedverkan

Nu finns möjlighet att ansöka om medel för att samverka med externa företag/organisationer 2019.

Syftet med PAUS är att:

  • Främja personrörlighet och ingå som en integrerad del av lärosätets samverkansstrategi.
  • Möjliggöra för lärare/forskare och teknisk/administrativ personal att genomföra ett tidsbegränsat uppdrag på ett företag eller annan organisation utanför akademin, vilket genererar ny kunskap och nya perspektiv till KI:s utbildning och forskning.
  • Skapa mervärde hos bägge parter genom etablerandet av nya samarbeten, till exempel examensarbeten och forskningssamarbeten.

Kriterier:

KI väljer att i första omgången låta ansökan vara öppen för samtliga KI-anställda, lärare/forskare och administrativ/teknisk personal.  KI uppmuntrar till utökade samarbeten med KI:s partners och landsting, likväl som samverkan med nya organisationer.

Axlagården Hospice AB i Umeå utdelar för andra gången pris till examensarbeten som har en tydlig profil mot vård av personer i livets slutskede. Uppsatserna kan vara litteraturöversikter eller empiriska studier. Urval av pristagare sker efter nominering. Urval av pristagare sker utifrån en bedömning av uppsatsernas
innovativitet, vetenskapliga kvalité och kliniska relevans.

Young investigator grants - Human Frontier Science Programme

HFSP young investigator grants support teams of early career researchers working on innovative approaches to understand complex mechanisms of living organisms.

Teams comprising scientists who are all within five years of obtaining an independent position, such as assistant professor, lecturer or equivalent, and who have received their PhD within the 10 years prior to the application deadline, may apply. Teams must comprise between two and four members. Grants are worth up to USD 450,000 per year over up to three years, dependent upon team size.

HFSP programme grants support teams of researchers at any career stage working on innovative approaches to understand complex mechanisms of living organisms. The aim is to allow teams of independent researchers to develop new lines of research through collaboration and to answer questions that could not be answered in individual laboratories.

Teams of independent researchers at any career stage may apply, though applications including early career investigators are encouraged. Teams must comprise between two and four members, and grants are worth up to USD 450,000 per year over up to three years, dependent upon team size.

EFSD/Sanofi European diabetes research programme in macrovascular complications

The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes, in association with Sanofi, invites applications for its European diabetes research programme in macrovascular complications. This aims to advance current knowledge and to stimulate and accelerate European research on macrovascular complications. Studies including use of advance stem cell approaches are particularly welcome, whereas studies involving classical animal models of macrovascular disease will not be considered. Grants are worth up to €100,000 each for basic projects and €250,000 each for clinical projects.

EFSD/Sanofi European diabetes research programme in macrovascular complications 

EFSD/Sanofi European pilot research grants for innovative measurement of diabetes outcomes

The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes, in association with Sanofi, invites applications for its European pilot research grants for innovative measurement of diabetes outcomes. These encourage new projects that advance current knowledge and help to develop innovative means to document and validate novel parameters indicative of long-term benefits for patients with diabetes. Proposals may include the validation of behavioural, biological and disease management metrics to complement glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in defining the quality of the long term management of diabetes. Pilot grants are worth up to €100,000 each.

International awards - Lady Tata Memorial Trust

The Lady Tata Memorial Trust invites applications for its international awards. These support individuals conducting leukaemia research, restricted to studies of the leukaemogenic agents, the epidemiology, pathogenesis, immunology and genetic basis of leukaemia and related diseases. Awards are open to qualified investigators of any nationality. Priority is given to those intending to move to other centres with a view to establishing scientific collaboration between laboratories. Each award is typically worth between £25,000 and £35,000 per year.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program (ALSRP): DOD

The FY19 appropriation is $10 million (M).

These awards support research ranging from validation of therapeutic leads through U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Investigational New Drug (IND)- enabling studies. The proposed studies are expected to be empirical in nature and product driven. Applicants with limited ALS experience are strongly encouraged to collaborate with those having substantial expertise in ALS research and/or ALS model systems. All specimens must exist at the time of application submission; collection of new specimens will not be supported.
