This one-year grant funds activities aimed at engaging stakeholders relevant to your research, i.e., individuals, groups, or organisations that could affect or be affected by your research activities and outcomes. The goal is to help KI researchers along a path to societal impact.

Proof of concept grants within life sciences - Vetenskapsrådet

Aim to bridge the gap between basic research and commercialisation of research results within the life science area by deepening the scientific or technical verification and implementing activities that prepare for innovation or commercialisation. Grants are worth between SEK 400,000 and  SEK 1.5 million, including indirect costs, for a maximum period of one year. The total budget is SEK 14m.

Project grants for sustainability and resilience – tackling climate and environmental changes - Vetenskapsrådet

Supports research projects related to the prevention of poverty and sustainable development in low and lower middle income countries. Grants are worth between SEK 400,000 and SEK 2 million per year for a period of one to three years.

Bidrag till forskningsmiljöer inom infektion och antiobiotika - Vetenskapsrådet

Syftar till att stimulera större forskningsprojekt som kan hjälpa till att tackla den globala utmaning som den ökade resistensen mot antibiotika och antivirala läkemedel hos sjukdomsframkallande mikrober liksom den ökade spridningen av patogena mikrober bland människor och djur utgör. Bidrag är värda mellan SEK 3 miljoner och SEK 5m per år under upp till sex år.

Bidrag till forskningsmiljöer inom infektion och antiobiotika - Vetenskapsrådet

Bidrag till forskningsmiljö inom barns och ungdomars psykiska hälsa - Vetenskapsrådet

Stöder forskning som leder till ökad delaktighet, inkludering samt integrering och etablering i samhället för nyanlända barn och ungdomar samt barn och ungdomar med funktionsnedsättningar med fokus på den psykiska hälsan. Bidrag uppgår till mellan SEK 3m och SEK 4.5m per år under tre år, med möjlighet till förlängning i ytterligare tre år.

Bidrag till forskningsmiljö inom barns och ungdomars psykiska hälsa - Vetenskapsrådet 

Barndiabetesfonden - Johnny Ludvigsson prize for excellent research in childhood and adolescent diabetes

Recognises a Nordic citizen who has conducted research in diabetes either clinically in children and adolescents, epidemiologically on childhood and adolescent diabetes or experimentally regarding type 1 diabetes. The award is worth SEK 250,000.

Etableringsstöd till yngre forskare - Svenska Sällskapet för Medicinsk Forskning

Ger yngre, lovande forskare möjlighet att etablera sig som självständiga forskare. Stöd uppgår till SEK 1.7 miljoner per år för heltidstjänst och SEK 1.3m per år för halvtidstjänst.

Stöder lovande forskare i början av sin karriär så att de får möjlighet att etablera nyskapande forskningsmiljöer och utveckla självständighet inom medicinsk forskning. Anslag omfattar cirka SEK 7 miljoner i fem år och täcker kostnader såsom lön, utrustnings- och driftskostnader, konferensdeltagande och publicering samt kostnader för hemflyttning.

Fellowship i medicin - Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse 

Vinnova - Samarbete med Kina för forskning, utveckling och innovation inom life science och trafiksäkerhet

Stöder bilaterala samarbeten mellan svenska och kinesiska aktörer inom life science och trafiksäkerhet och syftar till att stärka forskning, utveckling och innovation. Den totala budgeten är SEK 20 miljoner. Mellan sex och åtta projekt ges stöd under mellan två och tre år.

Research grants - Cure Parkinson’s Trust

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust supports laboratory or clinical research projects that have the potential to advance knowledge that might lead to a cure for Parkinson’s disease, or represent a substantial advance in treatment. Preference is given to projects that show the potential to delay, slow, stop, reverse or prevent the progression of Parkinson's disease and, in relation to preclinical research, preference is given to projects that are likely to lead to clinical translation within five years. Grants are usually worth between £50,000 to £250,000, over a period of one to three years.

Research grants - European Leukodystrophy Association

The European Leukodystrophy Association invites applications for its research grants. These support innovative research in leukodystrophies. Themes proposed in the 2018 call for proposals will focus on unmet needs in the field of leukodystrophies. Preference will be given to clinical trials and clinical trial readiness projects. Joint funding initiatives for clinical trials are encouraged. Grants are worth up to €100,000 over two years.

Osteology researcher grants - Osteology Foundation

The Osteology Foundation invites applications for its osteology research grants. These support research on oral and maxillofacial tissue regeneration. Applications are open to advanced researchers in the field of oral tissue regeneration and young researchers currently undergoing postgraduate education or within three years thereafter. Grants for advanced researchers are worth up to CHF100,000 each for projects lasting up to two years. Grants for young researchers are worth up to CHF30,000 each for projects lasting up to one year.

Small Research Grants for Analyses of Data for the Gabriella Miller Kids First Data Resource (R03): NIH

The NIH Common Fund has established the Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research Program (Kids First) to develop a pediatric research data resource populated by genome sequence and phenotype data that will be of high value for the communities of investigators who study the genetics of childhood cancers and/or structural birth defects.

This FOA is intended to promote meritorious small research projects focused on the development and analyses of childhood cancer and/or structural birth defects datasets that are part of the Kids First Data Resource or could be included in the Kids First Data Resource. Development of statistical methodology appropriate for analyzing genome-wide data relevant to childhood cancer and/or structural birth defects may also be proposed.

Closing date: Standard dates until September 8, 2019 by 5:00 PM local time of applicant organization.

2018 Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP): CDMRP

The BCRP challenges the scientific community to design research that will address the urgency of ending breast cancer. Specifically, the BCRP seeks to accelerate high-impact research with clinical relevance, encourage innovation and stimulate creativity, and facilitate productive collaborations. The FY18 appropriation is $130 million (M).

Foundations

Research Grants – EMDR Research Foundation

The EDMR Research Foundation invites applications for its research grants. These support postdoctoral students, university faculty or clinician conducting research on eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing. The priority areas are:

•advancing evidence-based practice – to increase the availability of quality EMDR research in areas where more evidence is needed;

•addressing the global burden of trauma – to investigate the use of EMDR in natural or man-made disaster responses by determining the effectiveness of protocols;

•building clinical evidence – to conduct research in order to build a body of literature on addictions, eating disorders, dissociative disorders, additional medical or somatic conditions, suicide prevention and to address the impact of suicide.
