Karolinska Institutet hereby invites applications for grants from the Ulla and Gustaf af Uggla Foundation, which promote research on arthropathic diseases.

The main purpose of the foundation is to promote scientific research into aetiological and/or therapeutic problems related to arthropathic diseases, in particular deformative hip joint arthrosis.

Applications may be made for grants for scientific research and/or travel for the purpose of overseas research in the above fields.

Researchers with a doctoral degree affiliated to a department at Karolinska Institutet, who conduct research within the area described above, are eligible to apply.

Awarded grants varies between 35,000 and 150,000 SEK per person.

Applications must be submitted digitally. The online form will be available through KI Prisma during the application period, September 4 – 18, 2018. The application period closes 2.00 pm.

Normally you can only receive grants for three times for one and same project.

Decision of grant will be taken by the Committee of Research. All applicants will be notified by e-mail in November.

If you have previously been awarded a grant from the foundation, you are asked to enclose a research report with your current application, otherwise it won’t be taken into account.

Specify five papers that have been published during the last five years, as an attachment.

As from 2018, a report on the usage of the granted funds will be required. After the end of the term, you will need to login to Prisma and confirm whether you have used the money, or at least have started using the money, or not. If you have not used the money at all during the disposition period, these should be returned to the Foundations and Funds.

Reports are submitted via Prisma about 12 months after the money has been paid, except for travel benefits where reporting takes place approximately one month after the end of the term. You will receive an email notification when it is time to report.
