Research documentation - what to consider
When research documentation is done in the best possible way, research results will be secured and traceable, it will be easier to share and troubleshoot data, storage of data and retention of information for the future will improve and increase reproducability - all things that greatly facilitate the work of a reseach group.
Both national and international legal demands require that research is documented, and the research documentation may be needed to verify the work done and act as a prerequisite for patents.
Researach data and documentation is divided into different parts, as illustrated in the figure above. A researach group needs to have a defined structure in place to facilitate good data management and documentation in all its parts.
