KI's new strategy - Strategy 2030 - has been approved
On April 15, Karolinska Institutet's board of directors approved the university's new strategic plan - Strategy 2030. The process has been ongoing for more than a year and has engaged the board, the university management and a large number of employees and students.
The new strategy focuses on three thematic areas: the global university, the engaged university and the groundbreaking university. These strategic themes are mutually dependent: by strengthening our international profile and our collaboration with the healthcare sector, higher education institutions and others we will reinforce the knowledge needed to create new research breakthroughs and increase educational quality.
The strategy development work began spring 2018 with numerous workshops for employees and students. The management team, heads of department and administrative managers, as well as the board, have also actively participated in the process.
The strategy document will be printed this spring in both English and Swedish and will then be widely distributed throughout the university. At the moment a Swedish version of the strategy document is available.
Launch of the strategy
At the end of May, two launch meetings will be held - one in Flemingsberg and one in Solna. All employees and students are invited to participate.
In connection with the strategy work, KI's new vision has also been approved:
We are advancing knowledge about life and strive towards better health for all
Now the work of transforming words into action continues as the university strategy is broken down into an overarching operational plan. The goal will be to use the strategy as a basis for developing and specifying the key initiatives that KI as a whole will focus on in the coming years.
