As of 1 January 2019, electronic documentation of research will be mandatory at KI. The first option for this documentation should be the KI ELN system. This was decided by the acting Vice-Chancellor Karin Dahlman-Wright just before Midsummer.

The Board of Research will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of electronic research-documentation, supported by the University Administration. The Head of departments are responsible for the implementation at their departments respectively.

The purpose of making electronic research documentation mandatory is that this increases traceability, transparency and information security in the research, and makes it easier to follow the rules for research documentation at KI.
