FAQ about the Ladok system
Frequently asked questions about the new Ladok-system in use at KI.
What is re-authentication?
Re-authentication means that you identify yourself with your user name and password when you validate a decision of authority. It is with this action that you implement the decision.
At KI, re-authentication is currently used for the following decisions in Ladok:
- certification of results
- issue of degrees
Re-authentication in Ladok when validating decisions of authority has been chosen so as to increase security in decision taking. By re-authenticating you verify that you are who you claim to be, that you have the intention of taking the decision you are making and that you are doing this on the correct grounds.
More about re-authentication
Re-authentication be compared to other forms of signature you perform on the internet to verify that you are the right person, that you intend to perform a specific action and that the information you provide is correct.
This applies for example when you sign with your bankID when you provide information to various authorities such as the Social Insurance Agency or the Tax Agency, or when you sign for financial transactions on the internet with your bankID or other type of code.
