We combine our research with teaching activities, through a variety of courses and seminars.
Master's Program in Public Health in Disasters
We are one partner in a joint Erasmus Mundus Master's degree program with the Universidad de Oviedo in Spain and the University of Nicosia in Cyprus. The Master's degree is meant to build capacity that will reduce disaster risks and contribute to better and more targeted public health based relief following disasters. More information can be found on the program website.
We also offer a 20 credit freestanding course offered at KI out of the Erasmus Mundus coursework that is run in parallel to the Master's program.
We teach short courses in disaster medicine for specialist doctors and medical students at Karolinska Institutet, on principles of clinical care, decision making with limited resources, and context in disasters.
Humanitarian Health Assistance
We offer a short course on health in humanitarian work, with the aim to prepare doctors, unrses, and midwives with the information to work in humanitarian crises around the world.
We regularly hold seminars and meetings on topics related to our work. Recent events included seminars on "Climate Change and Disasters", "Moral stress in disaster response - is it a problem, what are the consquences, and how can we handle it?", and "Using evidence to implement the Sendai Framework for disaster risk reduction and global health security".
