We combine our research with teaching activities, through a variety of courses and seminars.
Master's Program in Public Health in Disasters
We are one partner in a joint Erasmus Mundus Master's degree program with the Universidad de Oviedo in Spain and the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. The Master's degree is meant to build capacity that will reduce disaster risks and contribute to better and more targeted public health based relief following disasters. More information can be found on the program website.
We teach a short course in disaster medicine for medical students at Karolinska Institutet, on the basic principles of clinical care and context in disasters.
Humanitarian Health Assistance
In cooperation with the Red Cross College, we offer a short course on health in humanitarian work, with the aim to prepare doctors, unrses, and midwives with the information to work in humanitarian crises around the world.
We regularly hold seminars and meetings on topics related to our work. Recent events included seminars by the Assessment Capacities project on needs assessments in disasters, and by Gino Strada on his surgical work and NGO, EMERGENCY. Upcoming events are listed on the Centre's homepage.
