Stockholm Public Health Lectures: ”The Obesogenic Environment”
The Department of Public Health Sciences in collaboration with the Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine, Stockholms läns landsting, is launching the seminar series ”Stockholm Public Health Lectures”.
About the seminar series
This seminar series will focus on key topics in the area of public health, and issues that concern the planning and commissioning of healthcare.
The seminars are held by internationally leading experts, taking a popular scientific approach targeting a broad audience. A snack reception will follow, open to all.
"The Obesogenic Environment”, 18th of May
Anna Ingmanson, Head for the Department of local healthcare, Stockholms läns landsting, will introduce the seminar. Following an introductory presentation, we will discuss how current societal changes may increase the risk of excess weight and obesity, and how policy strategies can avoid this.
- Ulf Ekelund, Professor vid Department of Sports Medicine, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.
- Dr Kevin Hall, Senior Investigator, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases – world leading experts in the fields of physical activity and diet, respectively.
The seminar will be chaired by Cecilia Magnusson, professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences, and Director of the Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine (CES).
