Currently, I am working in three projects. One has a focus on associations between low back pain treatment and work disability. The other project involves caregivers of schizophrenia patients where we look at parental caregiver burden by comparing them to caregivers of offspring with other chronic diseases and assessing caregivers’ work disability, healthcare use, etc. The project also takes into account the persistence and adherence to schizophrenia treatment, considering different types of antipsychotic drugs at the same time. The third project is aimed at looking into the association between disturbed sleep and tiredness, and mortality, morbidity and work-disability. The project shall also consider overall and diagnosis-specific morbidity and mortality.
My PhD project was focused on mental health consequences of leaving labour market before the statutory age of retirement due to common mental disorders, e.g. depressive, anxiety or stress-related mental disorders. I looked at their suicidal behaviour, healthcare use and prescriptions of antidepressants during the post-retirement period.
In all projects, we use data derived from different Swedish nationwide registers provided by Statistic Sweden, The National Board of Health and Welfare, The Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
