Born and raised in Davangere, India. I obtained my master's degree from the University of Mysore in 2011. I worked as a research fellow at JNCASR, Bangalore, India, where I learnt most of the molecular biology and virology techniques. Now I am a PhD student in Prof Sönnerborg's group since June 2015 and associated member of Ujjwal Neogi's group. I enjoy teaching undergraduates. As a hobby I play violin in Carnatic classical style and do yoga.
I aim at genotypic and phenotypic characterization of HIV 1-C virus pertaining to adaptation and virulence. I also study the role of drug resistant mutations affecting pathogenesis of the virus.
