About me

  • Raised in Dorotea, southern Lapland in North Sweden, I am still interested
    in skiing, cross-country and downhill. Medical studies at Karolinska
    Institutet, where my research started (during the second year of medical
    studies) at the Dept. of Cell Research and Genetics. Graduated in 1967 with a
    thesis on microfluorimetric studies on tissue biogenic amines. Training
    in paediatrics started the year after dissertation, and the lab research
    moved to the hospital area after my training in paediatric endocrinology
    at the Univ. of North Carolina. The Paediatric Endocrinology Laboratory that
    was started in 1970 at the Clinical Research Labs has gradually grown to its
    present impressive size
  • 2 full professors, one emeritus (myself, since
    2002) 3 assistant professors and about 20 fellows from may different
    countries. The present leadership deserves all admiration!

Research

  • Initially experimental research on testicular physiology and pathology, later
    more and more clinical research on testicular and adrenal disorders,
    including Disorders of Sex Development and clinical studies on growth and
    puberty.
