I obtained Master degree in Health Sciences (Public Health) in 2003 from Riga Stradins University (www.rsu.lv), Riga, Latvia and a two-year training (2004-2006) in field epidemiology through The European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET, www.epiet.org). I have strong interest in epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections and have worked in this field since 2006.
My research project is about genital infection with Chlamydia trachomatis, its epidemiology, risk factors, and scenarios for spread and potential preventive measures to reduce number of chlamydia infections in Sweden. My research will include a time series study of Chlamydia trends, a cohort studies on risk for chlamydia infection, as well as modeling study on different scenarios for chlamydia spread and measures to control it.
