Cascade is a newly developed software for segmenting white matter lesions automatically.
The program is freely accessible, and a link or other instructions how to get access to it will follow.
CASCADE segments white matter lesions (WML) and estimates the total WML load. Input-images are any combination of T1-weighted, T2-weighted, PD and FLAIR images. CASCADE is a very good tool, not only for its accuracy and robustness, but also because it can easily produce results without any restriction on image input.
CASCADE, was developed and is continuously updated at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, Karolinska Institutet. It is now being used by researchers worldwide, including Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, England, Spain and Canada.
