Whistle blowers – what are the consequences?
The Ethics Council at Karolinska Institutet organizes an Ethics seminar: Whistle blowers – what are the consequences ?
It is not only within research that individuals act against common regulations. It happens within sports (e.g., ”fixed” games), in the financial world (e.g., insider trading), in business (e.g., bribes), and in various other organizations and entities where high rewards may be at stake. On the other hand, there are different persons that are witnesses to such violations of rules and regulations and report these. These persons are referred to as ”whistle-blowers”.
