“Adult Stem Cells and Myelin Regeneration”

Speaker: Prof. Robin J.M. Franklin, Wellcome Trust-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK.

Prof. Franklin has made major contributions to the field of developmental neurobiology and central nervous system (CNS) regeneration, with a particular focus on remyelination. Prof. Franklin and his team’s work unveils cellular mechanisms and extrinsic (environmental) and intrinsic (transcriptional and epigenetic) factors that regulate the differentiation of adult stem/progenitor cells into oligodendrocytes and other glial cells following CNS injury.
