Lecture: Eleftheria Maratos-Flier, M.D
Title: "Pleiotropic actions of FGF21 serve to integrate metabolism"
Dr. Maratos-Flier is Professor of Medicine at the Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Maratos-Flier's research focuses on understanding the effects of diet on physiology and metabolic “programming” of tissue function, and their potential implications in the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases, such as obesity and diabetes. In addition, her lab is actively investigating the role of circulating molecules that serve as mediators of inter-organ communication to regulate whole body metabolism and energy homeostasis.
