Tomas Månsson new director for doctoral education at LIME
On the 1 January, 2016 Tomas Månsson took over as director for doctoral education after professor Gert Helgesson, who had the position for seven years.
From Tomas perspective the role of director for doctoral education is to try to support the doctoral students with particular parts of the doctoral education. He will lead the admission board, have the overall responsibility of follow-ups and assist at half-time controls and dissertations.
- I would like to see that my role as director for doctoral education evolves in correlation with the PhD students and supervisors, and that they feel that they are welcome to come to me whenever needed.
Tomas has worked at the Centre for Healthcare Ethics (CHE) for the past three years, mainly with teaching medical and research ethics at KI. He is also a member of a research project with professor Niels Lynöe, which is studying positive and negative response and attitudes in patient care and its effects on the patients’ ability to return to work. He is also a member of the Ethics Review Board. Tomas has a doctoral degree in practical philosophy from Stockholm University.
