Mandatory Campus Day: Thursday the 29th of August 2019, 9 AM - 16 PM, Room: 104, Alfred Nobels Allé 23, Huddinge at Campus Flemingsberg
What is the course about?
This course is a general introduction to pedagogy in higher education, and will enable participants to discuss teaching and learning theory related to own practice and experiences.
How does the course unfold?
The course is equivalent to five weeks of academic studies laid out over a semester, mainly conducted via the learning platform Canvas through individual written assignments and literature reviews, as well as group discussions and peer feedback in small groups. The course will be conducted in both Swedish and English, which means that the course information, study tasks, and literature will be available in both languages.
When and where does the course take place?
The course opens in September with introductory work in Canvas. A campus day will be organized at the KI Solna campus. The purpose of the day is to both provide an overview of the course, but above all to give participants the opportunity to meet their fellow group members and course facilitators. Please note that attendance on this start-up campus day is important! The campus day will be held in English.
How is the course structured?
The course consists of five modules and an examination module. Each module lasts for two weeks where the first week is for individual studies, and the second week is for group discussion in Canvas.
What do participants need?
Participants need to have access to a computer with an internet connection and need to be able to attend the second week of each module in the asynchronous group discussion through the learning platform Canvas. The course is free to the employees at the Karolinska Institute and others (e.g. county employees) who teach students at Karolinska Institutet. Course literature is purchased by the participant him/herself.
Maximum number of participants: 60 (6 participants per group)
