MMC carries out research to support a science based management practice in health care. Our vision is to address how resources in the form of competence, knowledge, material and other assets can best be used and developed to improve human health. Read more about each research group below.

AIM

AIM stands for Action through Information Management. Our research group studies how the large amounts of data and information in health care can be transformed into knowledge and action that supports change and innovation. By using informatics, we can accelerate the process of generating new knowledge that reaches the caregiver and patient faster.

Health Economics and Economic Evaluation

Our research-group is doing research within health economics with a focus on health economic evaluation. Also education is a significant part of the activities of the research group, where the Master's Programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management plays a major role.

Health economics and policy

We conduct research on how resources are used to contribute to effective care and improved health. The field of research is characterized by the application of economic theories and methods in health care. With the help of registers we answer questions about efficiency and equality, analyze the effects of healthcare reforms, and compare healthcare providers and healthcare systems.

PROCOME

SSiHC

SSiHC stands for Systems Safety in Health Care. The research group conducts research on patient safety and patient participation from a system perspective. Our research projects include development of methods and tools that aim to meet the needs of patients, family caregivers and professionals for a safe and integrated care.
