Our research aims at understanding the basis for these liver diseases, drug induced injuries and the differences between individuals in liver function, risk for liver diseases, liver regeneration, human drug metabolism, drug toxicity and drug response, thereby facilitating a more effective personalized drug treatment at the clinics.
The research is focused on liver metabolism and function as well as the role of the liver in complex pathologies, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Our research is focused on the neurovascular unit and surrounding parenchymal neural tissue. We use human primary cells and stem cell-derived cells to form in vitro models with controlled cellular microenvironment.
