Social Psychiatry

In social psychiatry research is conducted in social factors importance for developing mental illness. The basis of this research is often large epidemiological studies gathering knowledge of how social factors affect mental health. Increased stress, fatigue and lack of sleep combined with individual vulnerability, are often involved when it comes to mental illness. Jerker Hetta has for many years studied sleep and its connection with depression.
