First and second level education
Teaching at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) is provided in the form of bachelor/first level, master/second level and doctoral/third level education at Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge. CLINTEC are, after appointment from the program committee for medicine, responsible for several courses in the medical program. Also CLINTEC has the full program responsibility audiology, radiography and speech and language pathology programs.
The new organization for education at the Department for Clinical Science Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC)
The board for education has the over-all responsibility for the undergraduate education at bachelor and master level at Karolinska Institutet (KI). The board for education (US), have appointed some departments, including CLINTEC, to be responsible for some of the bachelor/first level and master/second level programs at KI. The head of the department at CLINTEC is appointed to be responsible and make decisions about the programs of audiology, radiography and speech and language pathology that are conducted at CLINTEC. This assignment includes responsibility for the quality, integration, progression and scientific connection in accordance with the aims of the syllabus for each program. The responsibility also includes the assignment of each course within these programs to be conducted by the unit/department that has the best disciplinary and pedagogic competence to conduct each course with high quality and good scientific connection. Besides this CLINTEC is, after appointment of the program committee of the medical program, responsible for several of the courses within the education of the medical program at KI.
CLINTEC is responsible for the conductance, quality and research-connection of all courses conducted within the department in accordance with the course plans.
The head of the department has appointed a director of undergraduate studies (GUA) and a committee for education (UN) to be responsible quality and scientific connection of all the education within the department.
The head of the department has appointed program directors for the programs of audiology, radiology and speech and language pathology. The program director has an over-all responsibility for all work within the program including responsibility for quality and co-ordination of the courses within the program. Each program has a local educational council (UR) under the program director. The work in this council is reported to UN.
GUA has regular meetings with study directors and all those responsible for courses within the medical program conducted at the department. These meeting are to ensure information exchange and to establish the contact between all educational players at CLINTEC. These meetings are reported in UN and responsible persons are invited to the UN-meetings when needed.
