I am a clinician with obstetrics and gynecology as my specialty and a special
interest in perinatal epidemiology. I am also a global maternal and perinatal
health expert with experience from low- and middle-income countries at both
field- and global level, working on surveillance systems for maternal and
perinatal mortality and birth defects and monitoring and evaluation of
    programs.
The period of around conception, pregnancy and childbirth is an important
time window to detect and prevent disease in the mother and the infant.
Clinical epidemiological research is of special interest as the findings may
contribute to preventive strategies for healthy pregnancies, mothers and
infants. I am interested in understanding adverse outcomes in women with
polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), obesity and bariatric surgery and diabetes.
