Om mig

I am currently a post doctoral researcher in the Psychology section of the Aging Reserach Center, at Karolinska Institute, funded by an international post doc grant from the Swedish Research Council.

My research interests broadly focus on the determinants of cognitive functioning and state performance dynamics as well as affective states and mental health.

Strategies for optimizing cognitive functioning, restoration, performance and well-being in the short run and across the life span, is an overarching theme of my research.

The factors I study range from the external environment (incl. work environment, natural vs urban environment exposures) to inner psychological, physiological (e.g. cardiovascular autonomic regulation & inflammatory processes), and neural processes. I use epidemiological and experimental designs and mainly quantitative methods.

Several current research projects focus on how different natural and urban environment exposures affect cognitive functioning, restoration, performance, affectivity, stress and well-being in different individuals, using experimental and epidemiological approaches to address unresolved questions in these fields. During the past couple of years, I have been a post doctoral research fellow at the University of Chicago in the Environmental Neuroscience Lab, where my research focused on these topics. I have ongoing collaborations with the lab at University of Chicago.
