  • I am combining a clinical fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology at Karolinska University hospital with a Post Doc in epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet. In 2017 I completed my PhD, in which I focused on different aspects of the increased risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Since then I have started a clinical fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology and switched research focus to clinical obstetrics, but using the same research methods as in my PhD. I currently hold a clinical research position funded by Region Stockholm and I am affiliated to Olof Stephanssons research group at the unit of clinical epidemiology. I am, together with my colleagues, researching the impact of specific maternal comorbidities on pregnancy, neonatal period and childhood. Among, other things, we are studying how maternal eating disorder affect the risk of pregnancy complications and adverse neonatal outcomes. I am also studying risk factors for specific obstetric outcomes, such as the obstetric emergency uterine rupture. Combining my clinical position with research leads to the inspiring opportunity where research questions developed in clinical work can be transformed directly into a study. The aim of our research is to identify risk factors for pregnancy complications and to develop strategies to deal with or prevent these risk factors in clinical practice.
